The method includes, in addition to the established practice of dhikr, education of the soul to purify it of its defects and make him learn the essential virtues which are those of the Prophet (S and B).

We considered above the traditional aspect of education of the soul, the "jihad akbar" as the scriptural basis of the way Tidjaniyya.
But the education of the soul is also, with the Dhikr and the occasional Khalwa (spiritual retreat),components of the path, which must be done under the guidance of an authentic master.
